Reviu Merepek: Bruce Lee, My Brother

I went to watch this movie hoping that there will be lots of fighting and actions. Hey, when you think of Bruce Lee, what else will appear in your mind? Fight, fight and fight!! However......

This movie is not about how Bruce Lee became a martial artist. It's..another side of him. As the title said, it's a story told by his family, to be exact - his siblings. Watching for 1 hour of the movie, I am confused. What is this movie about actually? Bruce Lee's romance life? Because from what I've seen, it's only about Bruce Lee falling in love, having friends and a good family. I've been waiting and waiting when is Lee going to learn martial art and fight.


Until..some arrogant US man meets him. And they fight with boxing. This part of boxing also confusing me. When did the US invites him to fight officially? I think they just met in a restaurant, and 'fight' (if you call being punched on the head and that's all, is fight) and yeah the US did want to fight again with him when he is ready, but he never said to fight him officially? Or maybe I did not pay attention because the story is so slow and dull.


Okay, they did boxing. Of course, Lee won. But it still did not entertain me. It's the climax part which made me really feel the movie. Where Lee trying to rescue his friend, Kong (is the name correct?) from the drugs' slum. Uhh I like the friendship's bond and sacrifice shown in this part. Yeah. Only this part that I like. Also, Lee is 'fighting'. Eh fighting?? Nope. He is escaping. Not fighting at all.


Even though it sucks, at least viewer got to know a lil bit about him. I'm not a fan of him, so at least I got to know his names - Bruce Lee, Phoenix (name used by the family) and Siu Long (called by his friends). And how he got the names. Bruce - his father mistakenly assumes his wife saying Push as his newborn's baby's name, and the nurse mistakenly heard that it was Bruce LOL (dunno whether this a fact or not). Phoenix - is a name given by his grandmother. Siu Long - is a name he got in his film debut since childhood.


My rating for this movie is 6/10. I would not recommend people watching this if you expect some kicking ass, flying in the air, full of action movie.

P/S: I can't believe Bruce Lee chose Pearl over Margaret! Margaret is much cuter and prettier than Pearl!!! LOL

Defining FRIENDS

Recently, I've been watching anime RAINBOW & jdrama ROOKIES. Rainbow is about the survival of six young adolescents during post war (after atomic bomb) after being released/escaped from correctional institute which is one hell of a place. While ROOKIES is about some high school delinquents who had lose hope in playing baseball, being motivated back by their teacher to embrace their dreams - going for Koshien. Both story are very emotional, motivational and friendshiply themed.

Here is the question. How far would you (or your friends) go for your friends' (your) sake?

Joe

In RAINBOW, viewer could see that the bond of friendship among these six people are very strong. For example, Joe, one of the character whose dream is to be a singer, suddenly trying to cut ties with his friends due to certain circumstances. This sudden change has let his closest friend, Suppon down. Despite of his action, his friends still support him because they understand that being a singer is to have a positive public image. They do not want public to know that Joe has been in correctional institute before, and thus Joe isolates himself from them. And one day, Joe got into trouble where his previous band he worked for envy his success to perform in concert, and trying to get rid of him (kill of course). Here, their wonderful friendship is proven. Those friends which he isolated from coming into rescue!

There are many other episodes showing this kind of "I'm gonna help you no matter what!!" story.

Typical, no? Still, I love this kind of story. That's why I love One Piece so much. One Piece is an adventure manga which also focusing on friendship.

For ROOKIES, I'm still at episode 05. A long way to go before I can conclude anything. The theme song Kiseki by GReeeeN is really wonderful by the way, both the song & lyrics. And also the PV. Go listen to it.


This type of story focusing on friendship has made me into thinking. Do I have that kind of friends who would do anything or go such lengths for my sake? I'm not asking much, but I'm grateful to at least if I could get any help from my friends when I'm in any trouble. Well, maybe I need to be helpful first. Isn't showing kindness to others will made people to be nice to you back? :)

Ketika Mulut Dikunci Tangan & Kaki Bersaksi

Untuk mempermudah memahami maksud pernyataan tersebut, cubalah anda bayangkan tentang liburan. Setelah berbulan-bulan bekerja keras, anda diperkenankan menikmati liburan di pantai selama dua minggu. Anda tiba di pantai setelah lapan jam di perjalanan. Sesampainya di pantai, anda segera menuju koridor. Ternyata, di koridor telah dipenuhi oleh orang-orang yang bersantai seperti anda. Menanti di Barzakh versi LP

Pernah dengar lagu Far East bertajuk Menanti di Barzakh? Lagu tentang kehidupan di alam kubur/barzakh. Alam yang akan kita temui selepas alam dunia. fyi, lagu itulah yang membuatkan aku beli album Halawatul Iman & mula suka Far East. Walaupun ada kontroversi sikit tentang lirik lagu tu.


Dua tiga hari ini, aku tengah dengar lagu baru Linkin Park, iaitu Blackbirds. Lagu ini merupakan iTunes bonus track bagi A Thousand Suns. Actually, lagu ini asalnya feature dalam game LP ni - 8-Bit Rebellion. Game pasal suatu empayar High Definition (HD) telah mengambil alih kuasa dunia 8-Bit. So LP members (the 8-bit people) rebel!! Mana nak dapat game ini? Kena ada iPhone!!! Coz game ni hanya available untuk iPhone & iPad jek..huhuuhu

Ini aku punya interpretation. Well, setiap orang ada pandangan sendiri, isn't it. Ada yang kata lagu ini tentang rasa 'guilt' LP terhadap album Minutes to Midnight la. LOL. Takyah fikir jauh sangat. No simile, metaphora here. Kalau ada maksud tersirat pun, hanya Mike yang faham kot. Derpp.

Entri Sebulan Sekali

Sayalah blogger yang pemalas. Ceitt. Kata blogger. Entri sebulan sekali baru ada satu!!

Sebenarnya, aku banyak idea daaa nak pos entri. Tapi tak berjaya mengepos. Sebab apa? Sebab selalunya, idea-idea aku yang terbaik datang apabila aku hendak tidur! Yaa! Masa nak lelap mata pada waktu hening malam. Masa nak tidur laa macam-macam benda muncul kat kepala.. Betul tak? Ke aku sorang je macam tu?


Selalu, bila nak tidur, semua perkara yang berlaku hari tersebut, sebelum atau yang lepas-lepas mula berlegar kat kepala. Ada orang cakap aku hensem pemalu la, panggil aku Sanjiman, etc etc.. Yang peliknya, memori entah zaman bila entah - masa sekolah kot, pun boleh tetiba muncul masa nak tidur, tengah pejam mata ni!



Nak tidur pun payah kan. Usually masalah takleh tido ni jadi bila aku berniat "Okeh jom tidur!". Maknanya minda aku dah set nak tidur. Masa ni lah, benda ni jadi. Tapi, apabila aku tak terfikir pun nak tidur, baring je atas katil, tak de pun kuar mende-mende pelik. Tup tup dah tertidur! Ahhaaa


Masalahnya apabila idea datang waktu hendak tidur ni, ye lah, dah set minda "saya mahu tidur", kan mesti la nak tidur. Takkan nak on laptop balik semata-mata nak berblogging! Kadang-kadang kalau tetiba ada idea, aku taip kat henset sikit, then tidur. Tapi esoknya terlupa pulak pasal blog ni sebab sibuk nak gi ward, NCP sumer. Maka dengan itulah, blog ini hanya entri sebulan sekali (at least).. Harharhar..

 

Ok lah, gua nak gi tidur dan mimpi yang hentai-hentai dengan Nami-chwan~ hehe ಠ⌣ಠ ಠ‿ಠ
